Using Kernel Kernel Migrator for SharePoint

Migration with Kernel SharePoint is very simple if you do a little practice or observe the user interface properly. In fact, at every step, you will be guided by the user interface to the next step. Let’s have a look at how this software works for SharePoint to SharePoint Migration.

Note: Here, we will perform List/Library migration from one SharePoint Server to another.

  1. After installation, launch the software and SharePoint Server as Source by clicking the Add New Source > SharePoint Server button.
  2. Provide a name to the project, username, password, and then click Find Site Collection.
  3. Fill the required details for the SharePoint account to find all the sites linked to it and click Next.
  4. The list of all the sites will appear on the screen, select the specific site, and click Finish.
  5. SharePoint Site will be added as a source to the tool.
  6. Similarly, you can add SharePoint Server as a destination to the software.
  7. After adding the Source, click Migration to the menu tab, and from the drop-down, select migration to SharePoint Server.
Or from the SharePoint menu, select SharePoint to SharePoint migration.
  8. A new window will appear on the screen, click Add to add the SharePoint site.
  9. Select the source type from the given options and click Next.
  10. The tool will take some time to display the list/libraries linked to the source. Select the specific List/Libraries and click Finish.
  11. The selected lists and libraries will be added to the software for migration. Click Next to move ahead.
  12. In this step, select the specific migration option for List/Library, provide input, and then click Next.
  13. The Select Destination wizard will appear on the screen, select the SharePoint Server destination from the drop-down, and click Next.
Note: You can also choose other sites by clicking the Browse button.
  14. In the next step, select the specific copy options for List/Libraries and click Next.
  15. The filter section window will appear on the screen, apply specific filters to the items, and click Next.
  16. After applying filters, you will be led to Set Permissions for Migration. So, if you want to migrate permissions of SharePoint as well, then use this option, else click Next.
  17. Kernel Migrator for SharePoint gives you the freedom to schedule the migration process or execute it immediately. Well, I was in a hurry, so I selected Execute Immediate and click Next.
  18. A summary of the migration will be shown in the software. It will display the migration items, source, destination, etc. After reviewing the summary, click Next.
  19. The tool will start migrating SharePoint library from one server to another. Meanwhile, you can see the process, and if you want to stop it midway, click Stop Process.
  20. After the migration process is complete and the content has been uploaded to the destination, a confirmation summary will appear on the screen, click Finish to end the process.

I know the process is a little long, but trust me, it’s the best way to migrate data from one SharePoint Server to another.

Well, this was the process of migrating List/Libraries from one server to another. Similarly, you can migrate from SharePoint Online to SharePoint Server, Google Drive to Google Drive, and OneDrive to OneDrive.

Conclusion

All I can say that Kernel Migrator for SharePoint is an all-in-one solution for SharePoint content migration, whether it’s SharePoint Online or SharePoint on-premises. I really found Kernel Migrator for SharePoint very helpful in terms of migration speed, efficiency, and accuracy. So, if you’re planning to purchase a SharePoint migration tool, then give a shot to the trial version of this software before making any final decision.
